The human mind can be quite complex, which is why it is filled with a wide range of emotions.
Many people think that they have a good understanding of how emotions work, but there is much more behind the curtains.
You might think that happiness and sadness are at the opposite ends of a spectrum, but they actually are much more complicated. Instead of a single thread, emotions are more like a fabric or a quilt. You can feel a range of emotions at the same time.
But to feel positive more than the negative emotions, you need to experience and process the problematic feelings instead of running away from them. That raises the question of how to process difficult emotions? Let’s look at the two most effective ways.
Go Through Them
To start with, you need to go through all the emotions. But do that, you need to completely embrace them.
For instance, you could think about an event that you believe is making you feel this way. Then you can try to relive the memories instead of trying to suppress them. An excellent way to do this is by writing everything down. You can even post it as a John Doe, or Jane Doe, to see what the internet community has to say.
Be Strong and Curious
You can try to look at your emotions and see why they are making you act that way. You might find that your emotions are telling you to do something.
For instance, feeling guilty about traveling all the time for work might be telling you to try to spend more time at home.
